At least, that seemed to be the message of last night’s session. The game opened up on July 1st, 1879, with the posse meeting up outside Chicago on their way west. They had each received identical letters and newspaper clippings.
Seeing as they each needed to come up with a $1000 stake to participate in the scheme, the posse promptly fell to arguing about the best way to get rich quick. After much debate, Wade Tate, the scarred preacher, announced that he had a plan, and would return by sundown – hopefully with the funds they needed. Unbeknownst to the others, he sought out the Bishop of Chicago, hoping to requisition the funds as a member of the Knights Templar.
Meanwhile, the others decided to take advantage of the holy man’s absence to enact a bank robbery scheme they had concocted. So far, it’s hard to determine whether or not it’s working out. Two of the posse are currently forcing a banker at gunpoint to open the vault, while the remaining three are in the street, battling the six Deputies who have arrived on the scene. The building next to the bank is currently on fire, and a corner of it has been destroyed by dynamite, leaving the building quite unsteady.
We’ll pick up our story again next week for the conclusion of the attempted heist. Meanwhile, stay tuned to find out how Wade’s audience with the Bishop is playing out.
